It may have been a rainy April Fool’s Day, but that did not keep agents and their clients away from tour. As always, there were a few standouts. Here are my picks for Best of Tour.
49 Lowrey Drive, Atherton
The first is 49 Lowrey Drive in Atherton. This home is located in Lindenwood, on a cul-de-sac near Laurel School. From the street, it is a very impressive home. As you enter the foyer and great room, you see just how special a property it is. Features like hewn wood floors give it a warm comfortable feel for an active family, yet grand statements like the limestone fireplace and 18 ft ceilings give it an elegant large scale entertaining sensibility today I just wanted to curl up by the roaring fire in the great room with a book! The grounds of the 1.15 acre property are equally impressive. Your biggest sports fans can play just about any game their hearts desire while you watch from the outdoor dining and bar area, complete with fireplace. At $7,495,000. it seems like a lot for the money. Yes, it is not West Atherton, but you get wonderful Menlo Park Schools.
60 Holbrook Lane, Atherton
60 Holbrook Lane in Atherton in the Fair Oaks neighborhood deserves a nod. It is absolutely charming. All the finishes on the interior were lovely. I felt as though I had stepped into a cottage in the English countryside. The grounds, even on a day like today, were breathtaking. It is a 2,400 sq ft 3 bedroom 3 bathroom home, perfect for the single parent, down-sizing couple, or those looking to be near their children. Gated and private, it is priced just under $3,000,000.
380 Claire Place, Menlo Park
What’s not to love at 380 Claire Place! Located on a desirable cul-de-sac, this traditional new construction has everything any young family needs. Beautifully appointed with a bedroom on the first floor (staged as an office), master suite and 3 additional bedrooms upstairs, and then one in the basement, this “formula” cannot be beat. I predict it will be in contract before the weekend is up.
385 Golden Oak Drive, Portola Valley
385 Golden Oak Drive in Portola Valley was my last stop, and favorite property. Simple, sleek and sophisticated all come to mind when describing this 4,096 sq ft modern home. Add the jaw dropping bay and sky views as you step into the foyer…and all I can say is “absolutely spectacular”. The flow for entertaining is so well thought out, and with a main level master suite (with the same view), it is what so many of today’s buyers are looking for. This home will speak to anyone who wants to feel a million miles away, yet be close to all the town of Portola has to offer. At $5.1million, I believe this home will sell quickly. So unique!
