Jenny Liske has secured three listings for over $15M in last four months since our firm affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty.
What sold you on affiliating with Sotheby’s?
Jenny: “I immediately saw value in the global brand and the marketing outreach. When meeting with sellers, I now have so many more tools to offer to differentiate my sales program from other firms in our area. Sellers immediately recognize the Sotheby’s brand as real luxury. Before, as a smaller firm, we couldn’t access agents in LA, New York and Hong Kong. Now, we have access to the entire Sotheby’s global network of agents. And Sotheby’s has done a fantastic job of being selective about which companies they seek an affiliation with. You have comfort that if you refer a client to another Sotheby’s office, the quality of its agents have already been vetted and you know that they will be of a high caliber.”
What has been your experience?
Jenny: “It’s been so fabulous. My $6 million Atherton listing is owned by a business school colleague who had interviewed and knew many successful local agents. Global outreach was the most important criteria for him and he knew that with the Sotheby’s platform, I could market his property to the world. To that effect, I have gotten multiple leads from sothebysrealty.com. That never happened to me at APR, not once in three years. Now, I am contacted directly with incoming inquiries from the Sotheby’s website. That has been very eye opening to me.
My new $4.3 million vacation home listing is another great story. My clients are local homeowners who own a luxury home in another state. After meeting with me to discuss the possibility of selling their home here, they were so impressed with the Sotheby’s global marketing platform that they called me back to talk further about listing their vacation home for sale. They recognized that I could create a greater outreach and implement a more effective marketing plan to sell their vacation home than the local agency that they had been using. To ensure that I had my bases covered in a different state, I reached out to the Sotheby’s affiliate in that area to team up with another agent. It was the combination of my enthusiasm and the Sotheby’s global marketing program that sealed the deal.
Lastly, I went to a Sotheby’s networking conference and developed a bond with the #1 agent in New York City. He is a big advocate of developing a strong referral network within Sotheby’s and is happy to advertise my listings to to his Manhattan office and to all his clients. So, now I have access to Manhattan Sotheby’s office for all my listings.”
What was the biggest surprise?
Jenny: “The level of responsiveness to the brand. I didn’t expect clients to react so favorably.”
